The Commanding Officer of FLWG Group 2 is Lt Col Joseph B. Wisniewski.  Lt Col Wisniewski has been a member of the Civil Air Patrol for over thirty years, and his life has been one of dedicated service to our country.  He holds practically every FAA rating available in fixed wing aircraft, served as an F4 fighter pilot flying combat missions in Viet Nam, and was an active duty Air Force officer for 24 years.  He is a CFI\I, and currently flies professionally as Captain of the Boeing 767 for American Airlines.  Lt Col Wisniewski has over 19,000 hours as pilot in command, earned in a variety of aircraft, such as the B-707, B-720, B-737, B-757, B-767, DC-9,C-310, BE-55, C-172, C-182, C-206, C-210, and  PA-28 Series BE 36 BE 23.  His military flight experience includes time in the T-37, T-38, F-4, KC-135A, KC-135R, RC-135, and VC-137.  While serving on active duty, Lt Col Wisniewski spent 13 months in Southeast Asia, 6 months in Middle East Special Operations, and 6 months in Gulf Operations.  He retired as Chief, Combat CrewTraining School, KC-135 A & R, B-52G, Standardization Evaluation Division.
