by Maj Chris Duemmel

Cadets and Senior Members from the Jacksonville Composite Squadron provided direct support to the Florida Air National Guard (FANG) 125th Fighter Wing's Family Fun Day celebration on October 3, 2009.  The CAP Cadets and Senior Members assisted the 125th Security Forces Squadron with traffic management and control. The Family Fun Day Celebration was held at the Florida Air National Guard, Jacksonville International Airport.

Col Ron Corey, commander of the 125th Maintenance Group, welcomed the Cadets and Senior Members and thanked them for their assistance with the Family Fun Day Celebration.

C/Capt Allyson Duemmel and C/2d Lt Joseph Harb supervised the 10 cadets in their duties and 2d Lt Tim Borden and Maj Chad Tripp provided oversight of the group and liaison to the 125th Fighter Wing Commanders.

Jacksonville Composite Squadron transported the CAP aircraft CPF843 from Craig Airfield to the Jacksonville International Airport. The CPF843 was parked on the Florida Air National Guard ramp as a display. The other aircraft at the Family Fun Day celebration included a C-130 Hercules, F-15C Eagle and an F-22 Raptor.

Maj Chris Duemmel and Capt Phil Porter answered questions on the Cessna 182T, the Garmin G-1000 avionics systems and the Civil Air Patrol organization.

After the Cadets and Senior Members completed their work with the Security Forces, they were able to view the static displays, talk to the pilots and crews and enjoy the day as guests of the Florida Air National Guard.
